How far in advance should we book The Big Fizz for our wedding or event?
We recommend booking as early as possible, ideally 6–12 months ahead as a minimum for summer weddings when dates typically fill quickly. But if you’re planning last-minute, don’t panic, if we’re free, we’ll happily bring The Big Fizz to your day or evening.
Do you provide services all year round?
Yes! From sun-drenched garden weddings to cosy winter barn parties, The Big Fizz is here to keep the drinks flowing and the atmosphere sparkling in every season.
Do you cover my area?
We’re based near Market Harborough and cover much of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland, including Leicester, Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Rugby, Uppingham, Melton Mowbray, and surrounding villages. If your venue is within about 40 minutes, we’ll be there with The Big Fizz in hand (or actually on tow!)
How far in advance should we order picnic hampers or afternoon teas?
For weddings and large events, we suggest booking 4–6 weeks ahead so we can design something really special. For smaller gatherings, shorter notice may be possible we’ll always try to help.
Costs & Packages
How much does it cost to hire The Big Fizz?
Every event is unique, and so are our packages. Whether you’d like a fully hosted fizz bar, a cocktail station, or a mix of both, we’ll create an option that suits your celebration and your budget. We’re flexible and have a number of hire options to choose from and something to suit everyone. Be that dry hire, a prepaid bar, open bar or a cash bar. What’s included in the hire fee?
Our full service hire includes everything you need for a sparkling event: our beautifully converted vintage horsebox, friendly staff, stylish ‘posh plastic’ glassware, bar equipment, and your chosen drinks menu. Delivery, set-up, and pack-down are all included, so you can simply relax and enjoy.
Do you offer drinks packages or pay-as-you-go?
Yes. You can choose from:

Fully hosted ‘cash’ bar where guests pay as they go (cash or card)

Pre-paid packages for specific drinks, like welcome drinks, and toasts

Part-subsidised bar (where you add money to start the party) and guests pay once it runs out

- Best of Both, hybrid dry hire and full service bar where you provide the welcome drinks and toast, and we provide the evening fully stocked mobile bar service including staff
Can we order catering alongside The Big Fizz mobile bar hire?
Absolutely. Our hampers and teas pair beautifully with our drinks service, creating a complete food-and-drink experience your guests will love.
What is included in an artisan picnic hamper?
Our hampers are filled with locally sourced, seasonal delights such as artisan breads, British cheeses, charcuterie, homemade chutneys, savoury pastries, fresh fruit, and sweet treats. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are always available.
What’s the difference between cream tea and afternoon tea?
A cream tea includes scones with clotted cream, jam, and tea. An afternoon tea is more indulgent, with dainty sandwiches, savouries, cakes, and pastries alongside tea or coffee.
Can we customise the menu?
Yes. We’ll tailor food and drink menus to your tastes, your theme, budget and your guests’ dietary needs.
Events & Occasions
Do you only do weddings?
Weddings and celebrations are at the heart of what we do, but The Big Fizz is also perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, private parties, corporate events, like product launches and company team building, as well as festivals, and community celebrations. Wherever there’s a reason to raise a glass, we’ll be there.
Can I hire The Big Fizz for corporate events and staff parties?
Absolutely. From team celebrations to product launches, we’ll bring fizz and flair to your corporate event. We can even add personalised touches to reflect your brand.
Do you provide bar service, hampers or afternoon teas for celebrations of life?
Yes. We offer thoughtful, beautifully presented catering and service that’s tailored with care and sensitivity for these occasions.
What events are hampers and teas suitable for?
Our hampers and teas are a wonderful choice for weddings, anniversaries, garden parties, corporate gatherings, and family celebrations.
Do you deliver to our venue?
Yes. We deliver within around 40 minutes of Market Harborough, and we’ll advise on timings to ensure everything arrives fresh and delicious.
Venue Types & Logistics
Can you set up in a field, barn, or marquee?
Yes! Our horsebox bar was made for rustic barns, elegant marquees, and outdoor fields. All we need is a flat surface and safe access, then we’ll transform the space into a beautiful, stylish buzzing bar.
Do you need access to electricity and water?
Electricity is preferred, but we can run independently if needed with a generator. We bring water for bar use but can use venue supplies if on tap hot water is available.
How long does it take to set up and pack down?
We usually arrive 2–3 hours before service to get everything ready, and pack-down takes 1–2 hours after service ends. It’s not unusual for us to deliver The Big Fizz the afternoon or evening before depending on location and booking arrangements.
How much space does the horsebox need?
We need a flat area of roughly 5m x 3m with safe towing access both arriving and leaving. If you’re unsure, just ask us to advise. Though please consider where other vehicles or suppliers and tents, marquees, parking etc may go, as we are often the first in and last out at the end of the event.
Can you operate indoors as well as outdoors?
Yes, we’re equally at home in barns, marquees, and other covered spaces with either The Big Fizz or indoor bar set ups.
How are hampers and teas served?
Hampers come in rustic wicker baskets or eco-friendly boxes. Afternoon teas can be served on beautiful tiered Victorian type stands or as individual boxes, while cream teas arrive in hamper-style boxes.
Do you provide staff to serve the food?
Yes, we can deliver ready-to-enjoy hampers or provide a staffed service alongside the bar.
Can the hampers be eaten without formal seating?
Yes. They’re perfect for relaxed occasions where guests can graze and mingle. Eco-friendly cutlery is available if needed.
Licensing & Legal Requirements
Do you have a licence to serve alcohol?
Yes. We hold all the licences required to serve alcohol at weddings, parties, and events.
Can you arrange a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) for my venue?
Yes. If your venue doesn’t already have one, we’ll handle the TEN application.
Do you have insurance for serving at weddings and events?
Yes. We hold full public liability insurance so you can book with peace of mind.
Drinks & Menu Options
Can we customise the drinks menu?
Yes, we’ll design a drinks list just for you, from prosecco and artisan gins to cocktails, craft beers, and mocktails.
Do you offer cocktails, mocktails, or non-alcoholic options?
Absolutely. Every guest will have something to enjoy, including children and non-drinkers.
Can you supply locally sourced drinks?
Yes. We love working with local breweries, vineyards, and distilleries across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Do you use local suppliers for food and drink?
Yes, wherever possible we partner with trusted farms, bakeries, and artisan producers.
Can you cater for vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diets?
Yes, we provide inclusive and delicious options for all dietary needs.
Do you cater for allergies?
Yes. We can adapt menus for common allergies such as nuts, dairy, and gluten, please let us know in advance.
Special Requests & Personalisation
Can you serve drinks in our own glassware?
Yes, although we provide high-quality reusable ‘posh plastic’ as standard and can also arrange real glass for toasts if you prefer.
Can you provide eco-friendly alternatives to glassware?
Yes. Our ‘posh plastic’ is safer for fields and gardens, but we also offer eco-friendly bamboo cutlery and recyclable options.
Can you personalise the bar set-up or branding for corporate events?
Yes. We can style the bar and create branded touches to make your corporate event unique.
Weather & Contingencies
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
No problem! Our horsebox has built-in cover at the serving hatches, and we can easily set up inside a marquee or barn instead if the weather is looking to be less than ideal. After all, what’s a British wedding without a little weather drama?
Can The Big Fizz operate in winter or during cold weather?
Yes. We’re experienced with winter weddings and festive parties, and we can even add warming drink options to keep guests cosy such as Mulled Wines, and Baileys Hot Chocolate or Chocolate Orange Baileys and barista style coffees and hot drinks.
